Discussions about the Spartan Project happened, judgement, Rich swung in all righteous fury like he do, Chief got tense, I tried to help- and well.

I was that guy. No one likes that guy. I don't like having been that guy. You aren't that guy so. You can help maybe?

Chief does feel bad but he's doing the bs 'I'm fine' thing. I pushed more than I should've, yeah, but right now? I think he's homesick. Misses his people and he doesn't have many people here-


But he's got you. And of course she was involved, man, when is she not involved? That is a codependent mess I am not digging into, I'm still working on mine.

[Ugggggh there are layers to this, and while York has some understanding, he doesn't really speak Chief the same way Wash does (and Wash knows there are still massive holes in his understanding, and he knows more about Chief than anyone here except Cortana). It'd be a difficult conversation anyway, especially if Chief doesn't want to talk, but if Cortana's already mad, it's going to be impossible. Long odds might be Wash's specialty, but even he knows when to pick his battles.]

[ There's a point where coping meets conditioning and fucks the whole damn process up- and with Chief? He has no fucking idea where that point IS and with Cortana mama bearing over him every hour of the goddamn day it's impossible to figure out. ]
