[Hey, Wash told him to show up. Sans saunters over to the cafe just a bit late, because who shows up on time? Not Sans. He's wearing his regular hoodie, but more importantly, he has a floating rock following him, about the size of his liveriverer but... Well, a rock.
If Wash is going to try to convince him to do something dangerous, he definitely expects food out of it at least.]
[Wash kind of assumed Sans wouldn't be there right away - he's known Sans long enough to expect that. He's settled on a seat with Athena perched in his lap - she's none too fond of the swim-up side of the bar, but she's happy here. She's currently eating the shrimp out of a shrimp cocktail, but she looks up sharply when Sans arrives and zeroes in on the floating rock. What is that?]
[Wash's reaction is a little less surprised - a floating rock is far from the furthest thing he's ever seen, and as long as it doesn't have a laser face, he's not worried.]
Works for me. [Sans takes a seat, then gestures lazily to his floating rock.] This is Kabel. [Of course it has a name. In fact, when Sans says its name, the lines on its surface glow cyan and it makes a birdlike chirping noise of acknowledgement.]
[He orders two burgers from Miso Fou and looks back at the floating rock just in time for its introduction.]
[Unfortunately, Athena is also watching Kabel, and she is interested, especially when it chirps. Her pupils go wide and she wiggles her haunches. She is gonna get that-]
[Which is when Wash scoops her up in his arms and holds on tight. Nope. No floating rock for Athena. She yowls and struggles for a few seconds, then quiets down and sulks. If he's going to keep her from getting the toy, he can at least give her another shrimp.]
[So Wash very calmly takes another shrimp from the cocktail and puts it on the counter for Athena, who nibbles at it in between very pointed stares. Wash ignores the attitude and looks at Sans.]
I made it. [There's an uncharacteristic hint of pride there--without his worst memories weighing him down, he can be a bit more openly pleased with these sorts of things.] Went down to KV's lab to check it out, ended up with that.
[It was actually like a whole day in KV's lab, but it was very entertaining and KV liked his jokes.]
But maybe I should change how it sounds if it's gonna be hanging around cats.
